TDS - Unfair Business Practices
Almost 5 years ago I signed a contract with TDS. I was leaving a different company and getting a better price with TDS. I wasn't able to sign up for Charter since it was not available to my building.
One year ago, Charter finally ran cable to my building. The price to get the service would be about half the cost of my current TDS contract. I called my rep to ask them if they would at least match Charters price, if not, how much would it be to buy out my current contract. I was told "no", they wouldn't try to match anything, AND, if I wanted to end my contract early, approx 15 months early, it would cost $4,444. Obviously I said no that.
Fast forward a year. I literally just got off the phone with TDS. I asked the same questions and got the same answers. No, they don't care about matching anything, AND, the current price for buying out my contract, with has LESS THAN 3 MONTHS to go, is $5,692.
How is this reasonable? How does a company pull this kind of *** and stay in business?
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
Monetary Loss: $5692.
TDS Cons: Slow internet and bad customer service, Being lied to and about.
